UMW Toyota Motor wrapped up 2023 with continued growth in December 2023

UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) wrapped up 2023 on a promising note, with sales in December 2023 continuing on a positive trend, achieving a total sales of 10,402 units (Toyota + Lexus), comprising 10,079 units for Toyota and 323 units for Lexus. The total year-to-date sales as of December 2023 stands at 108,107 units compared to the cumulative sales in 2022, which stood at 101,035 units, marking a 7% year-on-year rise for the 12-month total sales figure. UMWT recorded 1,342,130 returning customers for aftersales services in 2023, showcasing a commitment to customer satisfaction and efficiency in automotive care.

In the same month, with the Toyota Eco Youth (TEY) 2023-2024 programme gaining momentum, Datuk Ravindran K. visited SMK Dato’ Mohd Said in Nilai, a participating school excelling in its environmental project. An annual initiative organised by UMWT in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the TEY programme involves teams of four secondary students aged 13-16 and a teacher advisor undertaking projects that address specific environmental concerns within their communities. The current edition sees the participation of 15 schools nationwide, which have been equipped with the Toyota 8 Steps Problem-Solving Methodology and an RM3,000 grant to help the teams kick-start their initiatives and encourage creative problem-solving.

Emphasising commitment to the nation through community-oriented initiatives, such as the Toyota Eco Youth programme, Datuk Ravindran K. said, "Here, we hope to inspire problem-solving efforts and contribution to a better future within the community, especially among our youth, embodying the spirit of Malaysia Madani. Through TEY, we want to empower the youth to be not just spectators but active contributors to a sustainable and innovative Malaysia."

During the month of December, Toyota also continued to expand consumer access to car ownership via the "Drive into the New Year with Toyota" promotion, offering customers up to a 100% loan for selected models. Car buyers could enjoy broad promotional savings, including of up to RM15,000 for a Camry, with monthly purchase instalments starting from only RM658 for a new Yaris. In addition, to help keep cars in tip-top shape, the Toyota Service Savers programme continued to offer promotional monthly instalment rates starting from only RM18.
